Kaiser Permanente School of Anesthesia (KPSA), now entering its 50th year, is a three-year Doctor of Nursing Practice program in nurse anesthesia located in Pasadena CA. KPSA is a collaboration between Kaiser Permanente, an integrated health care system covering 12.5 million members and the Fullerton campus of the California State University system, the nation’s largest university system.  This position provides opportunities to be part of an innovative team of educators conducting a student-centered program in nurse anesthesia. In this role, you will be responsible for course instruction in a nationally accredited program which may include classroom and clinical teaching, simulation experience, and facilitation of scholarly projects at the Kaiser Permanente School of Anesthesia. Other responsibilities include scholarship and service to the community, the School of Anesthesia, and Kaiser Permanente.

Qualifications Include:

  • At least two years of clinical teaching experience in a clinical setting
  • At least two years of experience in lesson planning and instruction
  • A doctorate in nursing, education, the sciences, or a related field
  • Eligibility for or a current RN license and certification as a Nurse Anesthetist in the State of California
  • Initial and continued certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA)

Preferred Qualifications Include:

  • At least three years of clinical teaching experience in a clinical setting
  • At least three years of experience in lesson planning and instruction
  • Participation in professional organizations
  • Participation in scholarly activities
  • Experience with innovative teaching methodologies in classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings
  • Strong background in basic sciences
  • Record of successful collaboration in an academic (university) setting
