Description: The Director/Chief Anesthetist is responsible and accountable for administrative, organizational, clinical, operational and educational leadership for OR Anesthesia service including budget and personnel management of this Department. The Director/Chief Anesthetist provides 24/7 leadership and management in the areas of customer satisfaction, provision of safe & effective care, finance, human resources, communication, performance improvement/quality or practice and leadership and professional development.
Preferred Education: Baccalaureate Degree, Masters Degree
• Graduate of an accredited school of anesthesia with appropriate licensure and/or certification to administer anesthesia
• Baccalaureate degree required
• Masters' degree preferred
• Experience of administration of commonly accepted techniques of general and regional anesthesia for at least a period of five (5) years.
Must be thoroughly knowledgeable and competent in all agents and techniques of current anesthetic, and an acceptable working knowledge of the policies and practices of the department and hospital.
