The School of Allied Health Professions, Department of Nurse Anesthesia, Virginia Commonwealth University is conducting a search for an immediate need to fill an Assistant Director of Doctoral Studies position. The Department sponsors both Entry-to-Practice and Postmasters Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice (DNAP) curriculums. We invite applications for a full-time, 12-month non-tenure track faculty position.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited school with demonstrated concentration in nurse anesthesia. A terminal doctoral degree is required with current certification and/or re-certification as a nurse anesthetist. Eligibility for Virginia RN licensure is required. Evidence of teaching experience is required.
Finalists will be considered based upon relevant teaching experience and effectiveness, scholarly and professional service activities, academic record, references, ability to communicate and work well with others, and successful completion of an interview.
Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience in advanced airway and ultrasound skills.
The Assistant Director of Doctoral Studies is responsible for assisting with the coordination and implementation of VCU Nurse Anesthesia offerings with emphasis on the Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice degree inclusive of the Entry-to-Practice and post masters DNAP programs
